The Department of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position. The position is available beginning Fall semester 2024 or earlier. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise graduate students, build an independent research program and perform public, university and professional service. The required area of expertise is production and reservoir engineering, and candidates with specializations in fields such as carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS); geothermal production systems; and low emission oil & gas production systems will be particularly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Well logging; artificial lift and oil & gas production systems; nodal analysis; well test analysis; carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS); geothermal production systems; low emission resource recovery. Preferred Experience & Education:An earned Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or closely related engineering discipline is required. Applicants must have at least one degree in petroleum engineering.
Salary Information:This is a full-time, 9-month, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Starting salary is based on education and experience.
