The Power Technology program at the University of Alaska Southeast is seeking a creative, self-motivated and collaborative person to help develop and expand the instructional programs. The program will operate from a well-equipped shop facility at the Technical Education Center in downtown Juneau. The position is a full-time, 9-month/year, term faculty position.

Demonstrate the ability to maintain current knowledge and certifications applicable to program requirements.
Proficiency with automotive service software and computer literacy.
Familiarity with accreditation standards and industry best practices.
Ability to develop and maintain successful partnerships with industry stakeholders.

To thrive in this role, the applicants should have:

Successful use of instructional technologies and/or innovative teaching approaches.
Familiarity with both Automotive and Diesel Technology programs.
Minimum five (5) years professional experience at the journey-level in Automotive and Diesel Technology.
Demonstrated ability to instruct students in Automotive and Diesel Technology theory and application.
Experience in curriculum development, accreditation, and assessment.
Master level certification A1-A8 and L1 through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or Master Diesel Certification T2-T8 and L2.
Maintenance of ASE certifications required for ASE Education Foundation accreditation.
Minimum of 20 hours of technical professional development related to the automotive and diesel industry within the past 12 months.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology or related field for Assistant Professor rank; significant experience may substitute for education at the Instructor rank.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Southeast campus in Juneau. This is a full-time, exempt faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
