Chukchi Campus/UAF is looking for a part-time temporary assistant to care for the native plant and demonstration gardens throughout the summer season. Work includes weeding, watering, harvesting; assisting with coordinating garden events; and other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Openness to learn about different types of plants, where they grow best, and how to care for them
  • Enjoys being outdoors in various conditions of weather
  • Basic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to new situations
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Ability to work with gardeners, volunteers, and other community members

None required
Required Experience & Education:

High school diploma preferred

Salary Information:

This is a temporary staff position. New hires will be placed on the UA Craft and Trades Salary Table, Grade M1 based on education and experience.
