The system president’s office seeks a highly collaborative, organized and self-directed project coordinator to support strategic initiatives, including the Arctic Leadership Initiative and the Alaska Native Success Initiative.
In this position, you’ll work with leadership across the system and external partners to advance strategic initiatives including the Arctic Leadership Initiative and the Alaska Native Success Initiative.

To thrive in this position, you’ll need excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills; and an ability to synthesize information from multiple sources to create concise comprehensive reports appropriate for an executive-level audience. Leadership and project management skills including facilitating diverse groups of individuals and demonstrated experience participating in and/or collaborating with multi-disciplinary project teams will also be key to success in this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. The strongest applicants will have 3-5 years of experience in administrative or program coordination in an academic or state/federal agency setting.
Position Details:
This position is located at the University of Alaska System office on the UAF Troth Yeddha’ campus in Fairbanks. Hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 79 (exempt) or 80 (exempt), based on education and experience. At least 8 years of progressively responsible program management experience and/or a master’s degree in a field relevant to the current strategic priorities required for placement at Grade 80.
