We seek dynamic individuals with healthcare, training, or technical support experience to provide healthcare simulation learning activities. Opportunity to work with university faculty and community partners to deliver clinical simulation and interprofessional learning opportunities for students and practicing professionals. In addition to helping design, deliver, and evaluate simulation activities, the incumbent schedules and maintains a high-fidelity simulation laboratory.
Successful candidates for the healthcare simulation specialist role should understand training principles and knowledge of course development methods. They should demonstrate knowledge of healthcare simulation, human physiology, medical terminology, and healthcare services and solid computer troubleshooting skills. Practical written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to operate personal computers and audiovisual and medical equipment proficiently. Additionally, candidates should be able to interpret computer equipment configurations and can update and upgrade software, firmware, and hardware. An aptitude for conducting classroom training, workshops, and seminars, coupled with their ability to lead introductory training activities, gather course development information, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, is necessary. They should also demonstrate adaptability, teamwork, and a keen interest and ability to learn new software programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
One year in Information Technology or other related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Current licensure or certification as a nurse aid, medical assistant or educator, or similar desired.
Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
