UAS Sitka Campus is seeking a Science Laboratory Assistant to oversee the operations of a biology / chemistry lab. This part-time, benefited position is term-funded through June 28, 2025.

To be successful in this position you will have science knowledge and organizational skills to coordinate efforts with faculty and lab users ensuring supplies, materials and equipment are available and prepped for lab kits to be shipped and for on-site science activities. Maintaining a clean environment and performing preventative maintenance on equipment and apparatus is essential. Demonstrating and utilizing proper safety protocols and procedures when handling lab materials and operating lab equipment is a must.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years college coursework relevant to physical and/or life sciences education and two years of experience related to physical and/or life sciences laboratory safety and maintenance.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Sitka Campus of UAS. This is a part-time, term-funded non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.

Starting salary is $22.98 or higher, depending on experience.
