Join the Rural Alaska Honors Institute (RAHI) team as the Assistant Dorm Director and help create a vibrant, supportive community where students thrive. RAHI is a unique six-week college prep program at UAF that helps rural and Alaska Native students explore higher education, earn college credits, and participate in enriching activities. As the Assistant Dorm Director, you’ll play a key role in fostering a safe and supportive residence hall environment where students can thrive. This position offers the chance to hone your organizational and mentorship skills, coordinate events, build meaningful connections, and create a welcoming space for students from diverse backgrounds to grow and succeed.

To thrive as RAHI's Assistant Dorm Director, you’ll need to be organized, proactive, and compassionate, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in mentorship, event coordination, or customer service is a plus. If you’re adaptable, eager to tackle challenges, and passionate about empowering students, this role could be the perfect fit for you!

The RAHI Assistant Dorm Director works under the general direction of the RAHI Dorm Director and is required to live in the dorm, work up to 60 hours per week, and be available on call. Due to the nature of this program, The RAHI Assistant Dorm Director should expect to have little free time during the program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 30 university credits successfully completed
High School graduate or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Driver’s license and ability to demonstrate 3 years of clean driving record with no felony arrest or felony conviction
Must be 21 or older to apply

Position Details:

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, AK. This is a full-time, exempt temporary position. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
