The Geophysical Institute (GI) at The University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking to hire a Program Assistant for the GI Operations Office. This role will provide operational & administrative support to the GI Operations Office under intermittent supervision. This role will support the needs of our office and research staff by submitting work orders, answering phones and directing questions to the proper teams, issuing safety equipment for field researchers, initiating key requests, assisting staff who have been locked out of their offices, assisting teams with designing their space to accommodate new hires, and helping staff to stay safe by communicating safety regulations and practices and following up on compliance, amongst other operations work as the needs arise. Minimum Qualifications:

High School graduation and two years office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position will be physically located at the UAF campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. The successful finalist will be expected to report to duty at the UAF office on the first day of employment. This position is full-time, Grade 76, continuing, non-exempt, 12-month position complete with a competitive salary and UA employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, based on education and experience.
