Parking Services, part of the UAF Office of the Bursar, is a self-sustaining service department dedicated to maintaining accessible, attractive and safe parking facilities at UAF.

The Parking Services Coordinator position is the cornerstone of this department in providing professional, courteous, safe and responsive assistance to the UAF campus community regarding parking.

You will be leading the UAF Student Parking Attendant(s), who you will train and coach in the proper use and maintenance of equipment and uniforms; instruct on policies and procedures; and teach how to manage inventory. You are responsible for teaching, modeling and monitoring positive customer service skills that are paramount in a very difficult regulatory office such as Parking Services.

• Knowledge of applicable state, and institutional laws, rules and regulations.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and
  groups within UAF and external customers.
• Exceptional Customer Service Skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions.
• Cash handling and reconciliation skills.
• Advanced computer knowledge with ability to operate and troubleshoot handheld
  computer, upload and download information to parking database system.
• Equipment Maintenance and troubleshooting, hardware and software knowledge.
• Multi-tasking and ability to work and make decisions independently.
• Effective supervisory skills, strong verbal and communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Three years of progressively responsible office, administrative and supervisory experience.

One year Computer Hardware/Software Skills. Some college coursework and one year
related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.

REQUIRED:

  • Possess a Alaska State Drivers' License and have a Clean Driving Record (MVR) in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.
  • Ability to Pass Criminal Background Check
  • Complete the UAF Driver Safety Training

Position Details:

This position is located on-site on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
