UAF Facilities Services is recruiting for an Operator to join our team.  This is a union represented position. Under general supervision of the Operating Shift Engineer, makes hourly and special rounds of the Plant, observes and records information, inspects, operates, adjusts and lubricates high pressure steam boiler auxiliary equipment. Checks generators for proper pressure and temperature, operation of feed water pumps, forced and induced draft fans. Receives on-the-job training on duties of the Shift Engineer and provides on-the-job training to the Boiler Firer Trainees. Performs other duties as assigned. Works in areas that contain asbestos.

5 years of Power and / or Production experience in a related field
Master level or equivalent certification in a specialized field including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, or mechanical; or a minimum of 15 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Second Class Boilers License
Must be able to acquire First Class License within six months of acceptance of position. A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
