Library Technician

UAF, Rasmuson Library seeks a detail-oriented individual to join our Acquisitions and Technical Services team.

The Acquisition and Technical Services Department works behind the scenes to ensure all library materials are accessible and ready for use. As our Library Technician 3, you will be responsible for repairing damaged library materials, receiving and labeling periodicals and serials, and performing basic copy cataloging to add books to the library collection. This position also provides support for Collection Development projects.

To thrive in this role you need to work independently and have a strong attention to detail. You should be comfortable using the library catalog and an ideal candidate will be familiar with MARC formats and Library of Congress standards. You should have an aptitude for handcrafting.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduation or equivalent.
6 months library work experience

Position Details:

This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 76, based on education and experience.
