Are you someone who likes a challenge every day? As a Pre-Award Analyst, you will spend 60% of your time working with staff members, reviewing, preparing, and submitting proposals. You must have an eye for accuracy, multi-task, work under pressure, be able to find answers, be well-organized, and work well with others. You will work in sponsor portals to upload the required approved documents. You will work with management to determine exceptions to campus and institute policy. You will also work with our Post-Award staff when needed. The Office of Grants and Contracts invites you to apply for our Pre-Award Analyst position. To thrive in this role as a Pre-Award Analyst, you must possess the ability to identify matters which are confidential in nature and to keep them confidential, as well as the ability to work professionally, effectively, sympathetically and harmoniously with others.

You must demonstrate excellent and effective customer service orientation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's (BA or BS) from an accredited university in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Must either currently hold and maintain Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification or be able to obtain it within 3 years. Two years of professional fiscal experience, preferably in a non-profit, is required.

Preferred Experience & Education:

3-5 years experience in grants and contracts management, financial and/or budget management is preferred. Desired previous experience includes:  financial analysis, forecasting and strategic planning to analyze and compile financial data and reports.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks, Alaska, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations.  Remote within Alaska or out-of-state work arrangements within the United States may be a possibility. This is a full-time, Exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.
