The College of Business and Public Policy at the University of Alaska Anchorage is seeking a Fiscal Technician to join the team and support the department by ensuring accurate financial transactions and compliance with internal processes.

As a Fiscal Technician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and reconciling CBPP accounts while ensuring compliance with university policies. You’ll support a variety of essential tasks, including processing donations, tracking restricted funds, managing Procard reconciliations, and guiding faculty and staff on fiscal processes. This position will make a significant impact by contributing to the overall success of the college’s operations and its ability to deliver quality education and services.

To thrive in this role, the successful candidate will have experience with budgets and complex spreadsheets, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to think critically and creatively. Effective collaboration, clear communication, and flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines are essential. A detail-oriented and proactive approach to resolving issues, ensuring compliance, and supporting diverse financial and operational activities will be key to success in this fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in applied Accounting or related field and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, and formulating fiscal projections.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
