Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for student development and community engagement? The University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking an accomplished professional to assume the role of Director at the Wood Center, our mission is dedicated to cultivating holistic student experiences and fostering connections within UAF and the surrounding communities.

As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the student experience at UAF. Your leadership will be instrumental in decision-making, problem-solving, and ensuring the seamless operation of the Wood Center. This position requires a leader with a keen understanding of budget management, crisis intervention, and the ability to inspire and supervise a dynamic team of support and student staff. Three to five years of demonstrated success in a campus center with primary responsibility for facilities and /or operations.

To be successful in this role we are seeking the following:

Proven leadership skills in a student-centered environment.
Experience in decision-making, problem-solving, and crisis intervention.
Strong supervisory skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
Expertise in budget authorization, responsibility, and revenue development.
Knowledge of effective marketing strategies to promote Wood Center programs and opportunities.
A passion for fostering connections between the university and surrounding communities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree in college student personnel or three to five years of demonstrated success in a campus center with primary responsibility for facilities and /or operations.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 83, based on education and experience.
