UAF Nanook Technology Services is looking to expand our Collaboration and Learning Spaces (CLS) Team. CLS manages smart classrooms, lecture capture, digital signage, and web conferencing. This position is entry level and would provide Tier 1 support and resolve significant problems across UAF campuses. As a CLS Support Technician, you will work alongside our NTS team as we provide to the UAF community of faculty, staff and students excellent customer service, problem-solving assistance and technology solutions each day of the week so they can deliver top notch educational services utilizing the technology applications available.

We're looking for a tech-savvy problem solver who thrives in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment. As part of our NTS team, you'll help faculty and staff navigate technology with top-notch communication and customer service skills. If you're great at troubleshooting, multitasking, and keeping things organized, this role is for you!

You’ll be working closely with colleagues, sharing knowledge, and ensuring our University community gets the tech support they need. Some days may include lifting A/V equipment, occasional off-site travel, and nonstandard hours—but if you love tech and teamwork, you'll fit right in!

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is a must!

• Must be able to lift and move audio/visual equipment and associated hardware.
• Must be able to work nonstandard work hours occasionally.
• Must have experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• The ability to occasionally travel off-site to meetings for audio/visual configuration,
   support, and end-user training may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field plus 2 years experience in audio/visual, networking, and/or computer programming, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria are required.

Position Details:

This position is on-site located on the Troth Yeddha' Campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
