As our Budget Analyst for the University of Alaska System Office of Strategy, Planning, & Budget, you will be in a unique position to compile information for the entire UA System that is meaningful to UA Leadership, the UA’s Board of Regents, and State of Alaska Legislators.
Sometimes the work will be fast-paced with tight deadlines, specifically around board meetings and during the legislative session. Most times, you will have time to work on specific projects, do advanced preparations for upcoming tasks, and coordinate system-wide meetings.
As a team of three we collaborate on nearly every project, review each other’s work, and keep each other informed on progress during our weekly team meetings.
To thrive in this role an individual should be proficient with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; attentive to small details and able to complete tasks with precision and accuracy; proficient with modern technology such as Google applications and Zoom; and comfortable extracting and working with large/complex datasets.
The position will be full-time in person, with flexible hours between 7am-6pm Monday through Friday. Flexible hours can also be arranged for employees wishing to take advantage of the university’s tuition waiver program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, statistics, or related field and 2 years of professional fiscal experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Professional fiscal experience includes financial data analysis and problem-solving; budget development and maintenance; complex fiscal problem-solving; clear oral/written communication of financial information; and awareness of general accounting principles and financial software.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' Campus in Fairbanks, AK. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
