We are seeking an Assistant Director to support the strategic and day-to-day management of the Northwest Campus, a University of Alaska Fairbanks branch campus serving the Bering Strait Region. This lead administrative position works closely with the campus director to lead program development.
As the Assistant Director, you will play a critical leadership role, serving as a key partner to the Director in managing operations, driving strategic initiatives, and shaping the future of the Northwest Campus. This position is empowered with full scope and authority to ensure the campus's effective daily functioning and long-term success.
Your responsibilities will encompass operational oversight, including managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading cross-departmental initiatives. You will also serve as the Director's primary backup, enabling seamless continuity in decision-making and leadership. Areas under your purview will include communications, marketing, and building management, along with spearheading staff development and contributing to the campus's strategic direction. As a leader, you will actively influence organizational growth and success by fostering collaboration, overseeing complex projects, and implementing impactful strategies. Your ability to balance operational details with visionary planning will ensure that campus goals are met efficiently and effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and three years progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Northwest campus in Nome, AK. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.
