The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate level with specialization in communication, navigation, guidance, and control (CNGC) systems applied to UAS/manned aircraft, satellites (e.g.CubeSats), and/or ground systems.
As an ECE faculty, you will engage with traditional and non-traditional students, supporting their educational growth, leading to their graduation and productive future careers. You will teach at the undergraduate and graduate level both standard courses and specialty courses of your design. With support from the college and your colleagues, you will develop new self-directed externally funded research projects, engaging students and forming collaborations with Alaska Center for UAS Integration (https://acuasi.alaska.edu/), students in the Space System Engineering Program (SSEP - http://ssep.alaska.edu/) and/or other faculty at UAF. You will support the growth of our new Aerospace Engineering Program.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is a small but vibrant community of faculty and students in the College of Engineering and Mines at UAF. They perform an eclectic mix of research from satellite communications, to RF and optical remote sensing, embedded systems, UAS and rocket design, and remote power and renewable energy.
It is expected that candidates will have a proven background in an engineering domain that can contribute to the development of communication, navigation, guidance, and control (CNGC) systems. They should have a passion for the engineering of real systems applied to UAS/manned aircraft, satellites, and/or ground communication systems. To thrive in this role, you must enjoy interacting with a diverse student body, be self-directed and have excellent time management skills.

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks Alaska., This is a full-time, exempt 9- month faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
