UAF's Community and Technical College (CTC) has an opening for a Term Assistant Professor for our growing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificate program. The successful applicant will serve as the nurse administrator, teach and directly supervise student learning experiences in the LPN classroom, simulation laboratory and clinical settings. In this position you will have an integral role in helping to grow and develop UAF CTC's new Licensed Practical Nurse program. You will have the opportunity to use your education and experience within the healthcare field to train and prepare students for a rewarding career as an LPN. On a daily basis you will be able to help advise and teach students in the classroom or lab setting as well as develop relevant and exciting curriculum designed to help students be successful in this field of study. Beyond the instructional aspect of your role, you will also serve as the nurse administrator for the LPN program.
A minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience and experience working with private and public external constituencies will be important to thrive in this role. Your strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills will be used daily as a member of the UAF CTC Allied Health programs and as you foster relationships needed to build and sustain a vibrant LPN program.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must hold a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing
• Current or recent direct engagement in a significant manner in clinical nursing experiences
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Alaska, or ability to obtain Alaska license within six months of hire.
Position Details:
This position is located at the UAF Community and Technical College in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, 9-month, term faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
