The Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Extension seeks web specialist to update and maintain websites for IANRE units and Cooperative Extension districts across Alaska. This position will work closely with the IANRE Communications Unit to provide support to IANRE faculty and staff.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Web Specialist to manage, update, and optimize our digital presence. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining website functionality, and supporting content development across digital platforms. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure our website is up-to-date, visually engaging, and aligned with our brand and business goals. The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of web technologies with a creative eye and a passion for user-centric design.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need a strong balance of technical expertise and creative problem-solving. You should be comfortable working with content management systems, web design tools, and analytics platforms, while also staying current with evolving web standards, accessibility guidelines. A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment are key. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit will help you work effectively across teams, turning ideas into engaging, user-friendly digital experiences that support our broader organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field and one year relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
