The School of Education (SOE) is seeking applications for adjuncts to teach course content in Experience teaching college-level courses in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Language Education, Special Education, or Teaching and Learning. The School of Education prepares educators and supports the lifelong learning of professionals to embrace diversity and to be intellectually and ethically strong, resilient and passionate in their work with Alaska’s learners, families, educators and communities. The School of Education offers undergraduate and graduate curricula and programs designed to prepare personnel for various professional roles related to education in a variety of learning environments.

This is an adjunct labor pool for temporary, part-time, non-benefited positions to teach credit courses. Adjunct positions are on a semester appointment basis. Successful acceptance into the adjunct pool does not guarantee an offer of an appointment nor does having worked one semester guarantee an offer of employment in the following semester. Applicants are hired based on the departments' needs for that semester. Salary is based on the number of previous semesters of teaching experience within the University of Alaska.

To thrive in this role, applicants must have expertise and experience relevant to teaching the specific course content. Experience teaching college-level courses in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Language Education, Special Education, or Teaching and Learning is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have at least a Bachelor's degree (for undergraduate courses) or Master's degree (for graduate courses) in Education or a closely related field. 
Successful applicants must provide official transcripts documenting the academic credentials required for the position as a condition of employment.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage. This is a part-time, adjunct represented temporary position. New hires will be placed on the adjunct salary schedule as outlined in the UNAD CBA.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.

This is an at-will, union represented adjunct position, and may be canceled based upon the needs of the university.

This position is represented by United Academic - Adjuncts, AAUP-AFT/ALF-CIO
