UAA Learning Commons Tutor Pool

This posting is a pool for undergraduate student tutors to be hired for Learning Commons' specific tutoring needs.

To thrive in this role, the candidates should act in a professional manner, and be sensitive to and respectful of student needs.
• Notify Learning Commons Director and students in advance if you need to reschedule or cancel a session.
• Keep all information on students you work with confidential.
• Support and care about student success.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Effective communication skills.
• Earned grade of B (3.0) or higher in the selected tutoring topic.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
• Prior enrollment in the course(s) to be tutored highly desirable.
• Capacity to work with students with diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to work the time promised.
Salary Information: Student Assistant 2, $15.26 per hour.

Position Details:

This position is located at the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. 

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.

This is a part-time, non exempt Student Assistant 2 position with rate of pay at $15.26 an hour.
