UB is a grant-funded program that serves 120 limited-income or potentially first-generation college students from Bartlett and West Anchorage High School to prepare them to successfully complete high school and enroll in post secondary education. Each summer UB offers a 6-week summer program for participants to continue developing skills to prepare for college. The position runs May 13-June 28 with courses starting June 3. The time before courses start is for training and course preparation. The program is hiring for adjuncts for English, math, science, world language, and elective courses. Previous courses have included Podcasting and Public Speaking (English), Yoga/Sanskrit and American Sign Language (World Language), programming and natural history (science), as well as Salsa Dancing, Journalism and Debate (elective).

The daily schedule will vary depending on the course. Courses will run Monday through Thursday with the following tentative schedule:

Electives Tuesday and Thursday 1:05pm-2:30pm

There are multiple positions available for each area.

Summer instructors for TRIO Upward Bound will be responsible for the development of course curriculum, delivery of the content, and the oversight of student safety and engagement throughout their contracted time with the program.
