UAF Community and Technical College (UAF CTC) is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Term Assistant Professor of Aviation Maintenance Technology to join our dynamic Aviation program. The ideal candidate will bring their knowledge of Alaskan commercial aviation, familiarity with rural Alaska, and their ability to effectively communicate with students from diverse cultures and learning styles as they teach and prepare Alaskans for Alaska's jobs.

This is a full-time, 9-month, term faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Since the UAF CTC Aviation program operates year round, full-time program faculty may be offered additional teaching opportunities during the summer months as well.

To thrive in this position, candidates will utilize their experience working on a variety of aircraft in a commercial aviation setting and their theoretical and practical knowledge of maintenance and repairs of certified aircraft under the 14 CFRs to prepare students for work within our communities. It is essential that they possess strong communication and presentation skills as well as intermediate to advanced computer competency. The successful candidate will demonstrate their ability to maintain safety in program delivery and in the aviation facility on a daily basis. The ability to collaborate across the aviation program and to work effectively with the Federal Aviation Administration and other entities within the aviation community are also critical to succeed in this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 or more years’ experience maintaining traditional, manned aircraft under the 14 CFRs.
• Experience with 14 CFR 147 schools (as a student or employee).
• Experience under the Federal Aviation Regulations in maintaining a variety (types and categories) of certified aircraft in a wide variety of subject areas.
• Current (as defined in 14 CFR 65.83) FAA Mechanic's Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Eligible for inspection authorization under 14 CFR 65.91.

Position Details:

This position is located at the UAF Community and Technical College in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, 9-month, term faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
