Term Assistant/Associate Professor of Math

Kenai Peninsula College’s Kenai River Campus is seeking a dedicated and innovative term Assistant/Associate Professor of Math to join our vibrant academic community. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about teaching and eager to make a meaningful impact on students from a variety of educational backgrounds.

In this role, the instructor will teach developmental math, 100- and 200-level mathematics, statistics or calculus courses using face-to-face, hybrid, and distance delivery methods. Responsibilities include advising students in mathematics and related subjects, actively participating in campus committees, and engaging in community service activities. The instructor will be expected to utilize instructional technologies to enhance learning, collaborate with colleagues across disciplines, and contribute to the dynamic and multifaceted work of a small faculty. Experience working with community partners, secondary education schools, and delivering instruction in multiple formats is highly valued.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals of varying ages and backgrounds. They will have experience in developmental and college-level teaching, a graduate degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related field, and a proven commitment to student advising and professional development. The successful candidate will be flexible, collaborative, and enthusiastic about participating in all aspects of campus life, including committee service and outreach. Experience with distance education, academic advising, and involvement in professional or academic organizations is preferred, as is a record of success in teaching and community engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Graduate degree in in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics Education or a related field.  PhD preferred. 

Successful applicants must provide official transcripts documenting academic credentials required for the position as a condition of employment. Qualifying earned degrees must be conferred either by institutions of higher education which are accredited by one of the six US regional accrediting associations or by an equivalent international institution of higher education as determined by UAA based on a review by a foreign educational credential evaluation service and recognized by UAA.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Kenai Peninsula College campus in Soldotna.  This is a full-time, 9-month, term faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Salary based upon level of academic appointment, applicable academic preparation and experience.
