This is a pool from which the for College of Health will draw when research technicians are needed to work on sponsored projects. This is a part-time temporary position. Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of employment. College of Health conducts applied and fundamental scientific research and collects, synthesizes, archives, and distributes data, specimens, and knowledge, partly through conducting field work.

Knowledge of data collection procedures, data entry procedures, and computerized spreadsheets and databases. Ability to manipulate data to produce charts and graphs to display trends in data. Ability to interpret data results for reporting. Ability to work in remote locations, sometimes in extreme conditions. Ability to coordinate/lead the activities of others.

Varies by level of position need.
Research Technician 1: High school graduation and 6 months' experience in field relevant to research or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research Technician 2: 1 year's relevant college coursework and 1 year's experience in relevant field, or equivalent combination training and experience.
Research Technician 3: 2 years' relevant college coursework and 2 years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Research Technician 4: Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 4 years' experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This is a part-time, non-exempt temporary position. New hires will be placed on the Temporary Salary Table and the Grade is determined based on education and experience.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
