Provide general and advanced information, research, and technology assistance to UAA/APU students, staff, faculty and community members in-person and via chat/text, email, and phone.
Report service-related data by using transaction tracking software.
Work on projects and tasks that may relate to information literacy, collection development, assessment, data/statistics, LibGuides/web services, outreach/marketing, etc., according to the needs of the Instruction and Research Services department.
Maintain familiarity with Library and University information, services, and policies to include emergency procedures in order to provide the best possible service to library patrons.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:• Excellent customer service skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of the resources (online and print) and techniques used for providing library research services.
• Ability to quickly learn and effectively use the Consortium Library’s discovery service, catalog, research databases, and Springshare web applications.
• Technology skills to include Google Suite, Word, Excel, common office equipment, and technology troubleshooting. Able and willing to quickly learn new technologies and software. Able to teach library users of varying skills levels to effectively use various technologies.
• Skilled in exercising sound judgment and thinking creatively to solve problems.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Ability to work effectively, sensitively, and collaboratively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
• Reliable and dependable.
• Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school and one year of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
$26.69/hour.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until a successful candidate is identified.
