Student Life & Leadership is currently recruiting for a Student Fiscal Manager to support the operations of the Student Union. They must be detail-oriented, reliable and confidential, and carry out tasks without close supervision. This student staff position is 10-15 hours/week and starts at $12.77/hour.
The Student Fiscal Manager will be working in the Student Union at UAA and will be supporting administrative operations. The Fiscal Manager will be handling daily cash deposits, checking logs, and processing transactions. They will maintain the upkeep Point of Sale system, and ensure accurate pricing all while assessing product profitability.
To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will have customer service, cash handling, and data entry experience (preferred but not required). A background in Finance, Accounting, or Management is a plus. Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills are essential, along with proficiency in Google applications and web systems. The candidate should be able to work independently, learn business operations, and maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of UAA and the university system is helpful, as well as the ability to research and solve problems independently.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for student employment in Student Life & Leadership, an applicant must: a. Be enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment or b. Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and c. Have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer or his/her designee. d. Students enrolled in non-traditional programs of study will be considered eligible for student employment with the approval of the Senior Student Services officer. An applicant must provide evidence of enrollment as outlined above to substantiate employment eligibility.
