The University of Alaska Southeast School of Education is seeking a Student Success and Apprenticeship Specialist to support future educators throughout their academic journey. This position plays a key role in student advising, degree completion, and the coordination of innovative registered apprenticeship pathways that help address Alaska's educator workforce needs.
As a member of a collaborative and student-centered team, you will work closely with students, faculty, school districts, and community partners to support student success from admission through graduation. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as this position works closely with students, faculty, school districts, and external partners. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and comfortable using data and technology systems to support advising, reporting, and program operations.
Experience in academic advising, student services, higher education, workforce development, apprenticeship programs, or educational program coordination will help candidates succeed in this role. Most importantly, we are seeking someone who is committed to student success and excited to contribute to the preparation of Alaska's future educators.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in student services, academic support, advising, program coordination, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience working with students, faculty, and external partners in an educational, higher education, workforce development, or related setting is preferred.
Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
