As the Student Account Specialist, you play an essential role in the day-to-day business operations of MSC. This benefited full-time position handles all aspects of our student accounts. In this role, you will ensure that all transactions follow established regulations and policies while providing technical support and guidance to faculty, staff, and students.

To thrive in this role, you must have exceptional organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, advanced oral and written communication skills, and the drive to improve processes and create efficiencies. Also required are advanced knowledge of automated accounting systems, electronic spreadsheets, and an understanding of best practices for accounts receivable and reconciliation. Experience with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook or Gmail is needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year of college coursework in Accounting or a related field and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications include knowledge of banner or similar automated accounting systems, a basic understanding of accounts receivable and the reconciliation process, as well as experience with Excel, Word, Outlook or Gmail. 

Position Details:

This position is located at Matanuska-Susitna College in Palmer, Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.

*An unrestricted Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required.
