Mariculture Program Coordinator

UAS Sitka Campus is seeking a Mariculture Program Coordinator to assist with the operations and maintenance duties for a growing seaweed and shellfish mariculture training program. This position is term-funded through September 30, 2026.

To be successful in this position, you will have a broad educational and career background that demonstrates an interest in aquaculture, mariculture, and education. You will have the ability to coordinate travel/transportation logistics, materials/gear distribution, purchasing supplies, and student outreach/intake support. Additionally, you will have skills for working on small vessels and marine equipment operations and maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications:

College coursework and experience in a field relevant to aquaculture, mariculture, fisheries, marine sciences is required. 
Must possess an unrestricted Alaska driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria.

While not required, the following experiences and qualifications are highly desirable: experience operating a small vessel in coastal Alaskan waters, experience using Oceanographic and Limnological scientific equipment and dry suit SCUBA Certification.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Sitka Campus of UAS. This is a full-time, term-funded non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.

Starting salary is $25.11 or higher, depending on experience.
