KUAC TV/FM is a vibrant public broadcasting station with a statewide audience and a unique mission. We
are seeking a dynamic individual to provide day to day management of KUAC’s financial and business operations. This position plays an important role in the organization’s financial and operational planning, working closely with all departments within the station as well as other university departments and UA Foundation.

This position is responsible for all aspects of financial and budgetary activities and programs and ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Working with the General Manager the Fiscal Officer is responsible for supporting efforts to meet the short-term and long-term fiscal and operational objectives of KUAC. Responsible for developing, updating and implementing financial strategies and solutions and must have the ability to collaborate and support management to align financial requirements with organizational business objectives. The KUAC Fiscal Officer will oversee the management of approximately $3 million in annual operating grants, as well as additional capital grants from Federal and State agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant management, financial analysis, and fiscal administration.

Knowledge of cost benefit analysis, budget forecasting requirements and budget preparation procedures. Knowledge of contract administration. Ability to analyze fiscal information, research issues, and recommend improvements. Strong problem solving skills. Ability to extract and interpret information from complex relational databases. Ability to prepare and provide analysis for reports that will be used at executive level.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management or related field. Or combined level years of experience in related field. A minimum of 3 years progressively responsible professional fiscal experience with substantial background in federal initiatives, state appropriations, federal funding and/or grants and contracts.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
