As the General Manager of Student Media's KSUA 91.5 FM, you will be responsible for working closely with students, staff, faculty, and community members. This role will see you collaborating with many unique students hosting radio shows who come and go over the course of each semester.

As the General Manager, you will guide a specialized team whose individual goals involve maintaining the station's equipment, marketing the station, training radio DJs, maintaining the programming schedule of the station, uploading music to the station, broadcasting hockey games on air, and producing pre-recorded material for the station. You will regularly meet with your team members and stay up to date on their projects and support them wherever they need assistance.

You will also serve as a point of contact between the station and other organizations within the University of Alaska Fairbanks Campus, keep track of software licenses deadlines, regularly check the station's social media accounts, represent the station around the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus, file FCC Quarterly Reports, file EAS Logs, sign off on Operator's Logs, and help maintain the image of the station.

This is a role perfect for those that are efficient in project management, unique problem-solving, and guiding a team.

KSUA Mission Statement & Values:
KSUA 91.5 FM is a student-run radio station located in the Wood Center on UAF's Troth Yeddha' campus. As part of UAF Student Media it provides a platform for student voices and alternative and/or independent music not regularly heard on commercial airwaves. KSUA also offers opportunities for students to gain real-world experience in live broadcasting, broadcast journalism, music, and running live events.

KSUA Goals:
● Providing unique programming and music that is normally not heard on radio.
● Providing assistance in recording, editing, and airing podcasts to students.
● Providing training and radio experience to students interested in a broadcasting career or being a content creator.
● Encouraging creativity and experimentation in the University of Alaska Fairbanks student body.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicant must be enrolled as a UA student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student. Applicants should have prior management or leadership experience. Applicants should have knowledge of or ability to quickly learn of FCC operations and protocols and how to use the RCS Zetta and GSelector programs.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus in Fairbanks. This is a part-time, student assistant position, starting rate of pay is $14.96 per hour. 

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
