Under the guidance of the Director of Residence Life, you'll be the go-to person for individuals and groups utilizing guest housing, the student recreation center, dining services, and classroom space. Your role involves overseeing all aspects of guest services, from collecting reservation requests to ensuring timely payments and compliance with regulations. You'll maintain quality service standards, actively engage with current and potential clients, and chair the UAS Guest Services committee to ensure program efficacy. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of basic cash handling practices and use of a computerized cash register system.
  • Knowledge of food handling and sanitation requirements for DEC approved operation.
  • Ability to coordinate events and multitask.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of clerical duties.
  • Strong customer services background.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic accounting and financial management skills.
  • Experience working successfully with people of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, provide necessary interventions, and provide after hours response as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field and two years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

An unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving criteria is required.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAS campus in Juneau, Alaska. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
