This posting is for the graduate students who have been selected for a research assistantship with any department within the Alaska Center for Energy and Power. The assistantship is per semester or full academic year basis.

The Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) provides UA Graduates with valuable learning and employment opportunities in a variety of fields including engineering and technology. ACEP works with Alaskan communities and industries as leaders establishing the energy systems of the future.

Required knowledge/skills/abilities are dependent upon the position being recruited for. To thrive in this role, interest in energy research and research support is beneficial. As a part of the Alaska Center for Energy and Power, you will need to collaborate, work, and communicate with diverse teams. Good organizational skills and a desire to learn and grow professionally will help you be successful in your role.

Minimum Qualifications:

Awarded Bachelor's degree and pursuing a graduate degree at UAF.

Currently admitted to a graduate degree program at the University of Alaska.

Maintain a 2.00 cumulative GPA for all graduate credit courses

Must enroll in at least 6 credit hours during each fall and spring semester during the appointment.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAF (Fairbanks, AK) or UAA (Anchorage, AK) campuses. This is a part-time position during the academic year and can be full-time during the summer. The assistantship includes a tuition waiver, health care coverage, and a stipend. Stipend amount is commensurate with degree in hand at the time of application. 

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year. Please note that this position will be closed on June 30, 2025 at 11:55 PM Alaskan Standard Time.
