The Student Fiscal Technician supports the daily financial operations of the department by performing a variety of accounting and administrative tasks. This position assists with processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with university and departmental fiscal policies. Working under the supervision of professional staff, the student technician will gain hands-on experience in budget tracking, data entry, account reconciliation, and the use of financial management systems. This role is ideal for students interested in business, finance, or accounting who want to develop practical skills in a professional office setting while contributing to the department’s fiscal integrity and efficiency.

To thrive as a Student Fiscal Technician, you should be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in managing multiple financial tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills will help you review data, identify discrepancies, and ensure financial integrity in all transactions. Clear communication and collaboration are key, as you’ll regularly interact with staff, faculty, and fellow students to process information and resolve inquiries. A willingness to learn university fiscal systems, policies, and procedures will help you grow in the position and contribute effectively to the team. Students who are dependable, professional, and eager to build real-world experience in accounting, finance, or business administration will excel in this role.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in 6 credits
Must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher

Position Details:

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks Alaska.
This is a pooled position and applications are reviewed as needed.
