The UAF Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is seeking a Fiscal Professional to join our dynamic and collaborative team. As a Fiscal Professional 3, you will play a key role in managing CTL’s financial planning and reporting, ensuring that resources align with our mission to support faculty development and innovative teaching practices. You will oversee budget planning, financial analysis, grant and contract administration, and ensure compliance with university guidelines and financial best practices.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the executive director to develop fiscal goals and provide data-driven insights for strategic decision-making. Responsibilities include preparing management reports, analyzing revenue and expenditure trends, assisting with budget development, and tracking fiscal metrics to drive financial modeling and planning. You will also supervise the office’s administrative functions, maintain fiscal monitoring systems, and support grant writing and contract management activities.
To Thrive in This Role:
An ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in financial analysis and budgeting for a university setting. You should bring experience in preparing and managing budgets, creating detailed reports, and overseeing complex financial systems. Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment are essential, as is proficiency in using financial software and tools, including Excel for data modeling. Effective communication skills and the ability to analyze fiscal metrics for strategic planning will be critical to support the unit’s financial sustainability and growth. Familiarity with grant administration and the ability to manage varied tasks, from budget tracking to policy advising, will ensure success in this role.
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of governmental budgeting and accounting. Extensive analytical experience using sophisticated, integrated financial management systems. Knowledge of and experience with computerized financial accounting.
Problem-solving, sound judgment, research, and data analysis skills.
Accounting theory and analysis. Minimum of three years experience as a fiscal professional or equivalent. Minimum of one year of sponsored program budgeting, grant management, and/or fund accounting experience.

BA or BS in business, management, accounting, statistics, or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details:
This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, on-campus, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.
