The International Arctic Research Center (IARC), University of Alaska Fairbanks, invites you to apply for the Fiscal Grants Coordinator position, an essential role for our dynamic business team. To thrive in this role, you will need to have strong communication and organizational skills, and be enthusiastic about developing streamlined processes and resources in a team environment. Experience in managing grants and/or federal grant compliance will be advantageous, as will knowledge of procurement.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, statistics or related field and 3-years or progressive fiscal knowledge and responsible experience in the field of finance or an equivalent combination of training and experience. 

Knowledge in areas of grant work/ grant management, prior knowledge of working with awards and subawards, communication skill with Principal Investigators (PIs) on grants.

Budget knowledge, labor distributions, procurement-related experience and evidence of organizational skills, project management, multitasking, business-processes oriented, analytical thinking.

Preferred working knowledge of UA systems, procedures, practices, as well as, State of Alaska and Federal regulations relating to federal and state major programs. Proficient knowledge of interfacing software, including knowledge of reports and querying of data.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Fairbanks Alaska Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, and flexible arrangements may be considered. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79 based on education and experience.
