The School of Allied Health is recruiting for a part-time, term Instructor or Assistant Professor of Radiologic Technology. We are seeking an individual who will work in a collaborative/interdisciplinary teaching environment in the delivery of courses within the UAA Radiologic Technology program. The faculty member appointed to this position will provide advising to prospective and current students, didactic and laboratory education to students enrolled in the Radiologic Technology program. The program director will be responsible for the structure as well as the daily operation of the program, including organization, administration, periodic review and evaluation, continued development, and general effectiveness of program curricula.
This position requires a commitment to student-centered learning, engagement, and teaching excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience leading or collaborating within a diverse, multicultural workforce and demonstrate a strong dedication to the College of Health's mission. Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, along with computer literacy, are essential. Additionally, the candidate should possess expertise in contemporary curricular content relevant to Radiologic Technology education.
To thrive in this role, candidates should have a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist. Preferred qualifications include at least one year of experience as a didactic instructor or clinical preceptor in a Radiologic Technology program, along with demonstrated proficiency in curriculum development, student supervision, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising. Familiarity with accreditation standards (JRCERT) and Radiologic Technology training considerations in Alaska is highly desirable. Successful candidates will engage in continuous professional development, maintain membership in professional societies such as AKSRT or ASRT, and demonstrate experience working with diverse populations or in multicultural settings. Additionally, experience in community partnerships or serving on advisory boards is valuable.
Minimum Qualifications:
For Assistant Professor:
Bachelor Degree- preferred Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology or Healthcare related field.
Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration in Radiologic Technology.
Minimum 2 years of full time experience as a registered radiologic technologist.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Goose Lake campus in Anchorage, AK. This is a part-time, term funded, exempt faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
