The College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP) at UAA is seeking an energetic, positive, and detail-oriented individual as a full-time Faculty Support Specialist. This position provides administrative support to the faculty of the CBPP. Assist with and implement day to day academic policy and general office management which includes document tracking and maintenance of electronic files.

To thrive in this role the candidate must have the following:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Previous information data experience
Ability to exercise judgment and initiative in determining office needs.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
Ability to work independently and remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease
Knowledge and expertise in the use of office productivity software, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other database applications, etc.
Ability to establish and maintain files and record keeping systems.
Ability to meet and greet the public with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to offer excellent customer care.
Demonstrated exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills
Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to prioritize, stay self-motivated and show attention to detail

Must have professional experience coordinating & collaborating. Proven ability to work independently in a position requiring a high degree of initiative. Proven ability to create positive partnerships and collaborate within a team. Professional experience in an administrate higher education position. One year of relevant experience in coordinating, creating, and leading projects. Experience in program event coordination, and digital media. Experience in providing for the unique needs of distance learning and multicultural student.

The ability to Provide day-to-day guidance, training and direction for staff in addition to other duties. Regularly assign and review work. Fluent in assigned area of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and four years progressively responsible experience relevant to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Professional experience in an administrative support position. One year of relevant experience in coordinating, creating, and leading projects.        

Position Details:

This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, based on education and experience.
