The A.A.S degree in process technology prepares you for employment as an operations technician in the process industry. The process industry includes oil and gas production, mining and milling, transportation and refining, utilities, waste-water treatment and facilities maintenance. These are highly skilled and well paid positions within Alaska and around the world.

The Process Technology Intern aids Facilities Services - Division of Utilities Maintenance, Operations, Instrumentation and/or Water Plant sections within the UAF Power Plant with various duties as assigned, while gaining hands-on experience. The position is generally part-time during the academic year (Fall & Spring Semesters) and full-time during the Summer Semester.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Ability to follow instructions, work with dependability, work in high-pressure situations,
work cooperatively with others and work with accuracy.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Must be enrolled in the A.A.S. Process Technology degree or Bachelor of Technology
Programs
Must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA)

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Must be enrolled in the A.A.S. Process Technology degree or Bachelor of Technology
Programs
Be enrolled at UAF with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment; or
Have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and

Have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA, or a newly enrolled student.
