The Center for Student Engagement is hiring two Esports Student Assistants to support the Alaska Esports Center and Program. This is an excellent opportunity for students passionate about gaming to gain hands-on experience in program development, event planning, and team management.

Center Operations: Ensure the Alaska Esports Center is fully operational during open hours. This includes routine maintenance and cleaning of PCs, consoles, and peripherals, as well as troubleshooting and reporting technical issues.
Software Management: Manage and update software on all machines, ensuring all games and applications adhere to licensing agreements.
Event Programming: Help plan and execute weekly and monthly events, such as tournaments, intramurals, and charity events. Your goal is to foster a positive and engaging gaming community for UAF students and the wider Fairbanks community.
Team Support: Assist with the arrangement, scheduling, coordination, and training for our varsity and junior varsity esports teams.
Content Creation & Social Media: Help advertise events, gather student feedback, and manage the official UAF Esports social media accounts.
Broadcasting: Identify and schedule talent for live-streamed events. Experience with platforms like Twitch and broadcasting software such as OBS is a plus.

● Strong knowledge of esports and general gaming culture.
● Good understanding of gaming hardware and software.
● Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
● Attention to detail and a commitment to providing great customer service.
● Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
● Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week.
● Ability to lift up to, and including 50 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicant must be enrolled as a UA student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks.

This is a Student Assistant 2 Position, minimum starting pay is $16.00 per hour.
