Apply to join our team in a fast paced and fun environment! The University of Alaska Fairbanks is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Technology Support Services Team as an Endpoint Specialist. The Technology Support Services Team is a member of the Nanook Technology Support Services team and serves UAF and UA customers in providing endpoint and software support for staff and faculty.

This position will be primarily responsible for managing windows endpoints in a hybrid enterprise environment. This role will be critical to modernizing and securing our windows environment at University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Developing, testing, and implementing OS deployments to mee the needs of individual
   departments.
• Developing, testing, and implementing configuration management policies for endoints
   using industry best practices.
• Developing Microsoft Itune, MECM, and Active Directory services relating to endpoint
   management
• Licensing and packaging applications for deployment
• Maintaining Windows servers related to device management and other internal
   processes
• Staying up-to-date on latest technology and security trends
• Other duties as assigned safety protocols.

You have mature Windows administration experience in an enterprise environment. You are dependable, with a record of working well with others. You can visualize internal process improvements and make them reality. You are a problem solver, proactively looking for solutions and improvements to internal systems and processes as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education and Training:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Information Technology or other related field)
   and 4 years progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of
   training and experience
• Industry-standard certifications or academic courses in relevant fields are highly
   preferred.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (driving duties are required) in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working in a higher education environment.
• Professional experience with OS and application virtualization.
• Professional experience with infrastructure environments including server operating
  systems, Azure, AWS, and VMware.
• Demonstrated success working in a team environment and promoting the goals of the
  organization

Position Details:

This position is located on-site on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks, Alaska and is fully in-person.  This is a full-time, Exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 81, based on education and experience.
