The Administrative Assistant is a critical position supporting Emergency Services programs, including Fire Science, EMT/Paramedicine, and Law Enforcement. You will help ensure students have a positive experience as they pursue their educational goals. This role requires exemplary customer care and organizational skills to provide academic program support, student support, records and budget management, event planning, and outreach.

To thrive in this role, you must have exceptional interpersonal and active listening skills. Excellent communication skills, sound judgment and discretion, and strong collaborative skills are essential in this position. The successful candidate will also possess excellent computer skills, as demonstrated by their experience using spreadsheets, word processing, learning management systems, and similar tools. You will work independently and as a member of a larger, collaborative team to serve students, full-time and adjunct faculty, and industry partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

Educational/vocational experience in subject area sufficient to perform the typical duties as required for the position.

High school diploma or equivalent college level course work and/or training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAF Community and Technical College campus. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
