ARLIS is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Electronic Discovery Librarian to be part of a dynamic and distinct specialized research library that reflects Alaska's natural and cultural heritage. As a faculty librarian, you will oversee all discovery platforms and handle the following: manage access to journal and database subscriptions, EBSCO Discovery Service, EBSCO Publication Finder, EZproxy authentication server, ARLIS website administration, usage analytics, ILLiad, and VuFind. Using Preservica, you will manage the digital repository, developing and maintaining procedures for organizing and preserving repository content and data that adhere to current best practices. Working with staff, vendors, and partners to resolve issues and ensure access to discovery platforms and systems, you will plan and implement improvements on an ongoing basis. Likewise, you will coordinate and oversee technical projects by optimizing the efficiency and quality of project output, monitoring short-term and long-term progress of projects, adhering to project requirements and timelines, overseeing project staff as needed, identifying and reporting quality control issues, and regularly communicating project progress.

As the Electronic Discovery Librarian, you will have expert knowledge of discovery platforms, website administration, digital/data repositories, long-term preservation best practices for digital and data assets, large scale file and data set management, metadata, quality control, integrated library systems, project management, including supervising project staff, and working in specialized research libraries.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an ALA-accredited institution. A minimum of two years of progressive experience or equivalent in electronic resources, website development, repository systems, or technical project management. This position is specifically meant for emerging professionals with existing electronic resources and repository experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time, 9+3 month, term-funded, non-tenure track, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Faculty salaries are based on a variety of factors, including education and experience. This is an onsite position.
