This student position assists the Facilities Services division of Design & Construction with various engineering/architectural projects. This job is part-time during the academic year and full-time during the summer, hours are flexible for students who are taking summer classes. Both active UAF students and High School graduates who have been accepted to UAF may apply. Student intern job responsibilities generally consist of assisting the UAF (DDC) Design and Construction Management team for various UAF projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

No formal certification is required. Students should be enrolled in a UAF engineering program or show an interest in engineering from previous experience or other education. Experience with Autocad preferred, but not required.

COLLEGE STUDENTS: Must be enrolled in an Engineering program at UAF. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits during the current semester year of applying,  or have been enrolled the preceding semester for six or more credit hours and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester for employment between semesters; and GPA must be 2.0 or better. HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES (current year of applying to this position): Must have an interest in an engineering field. Must have applied and been accepted to UAF. Must have a GPA of 2.0 or better.

Data entry, basic computer skills, willingness to show up to work on time and be a reliable asset to the department.

A valid driver's license (preferred) and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria.

Position Details:

Starting salary - $16.15 with opportunity for advancement.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
