The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader for the position of Director of Alumni and Community Engagement. This role is pivotal in designing and managing a robust alumni and community engagement program that supports the university's mission and priorities. Key responsibilities include:

- Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to create and sustain alumni and community engagement programs.
- Event Management: Organize and manage activities and events to engage alumni and community partners.
- Relationship Building: Develop strong, mutually beneficial relationships with alumni and community friends.
- Program Development: Enhance program offerings to meet the needs of alumni and community partners.
- Collaboration: Work closely with university leadership and volunteers to foster a collaborative environment.
- Supervision: Lead and supervise alumni staff, ensuring effective volunteer management and training.

This position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in alumni relations or a related area. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with a proven ability to balance multiple priorities and achieve strategic goals.

The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) University Advancement Department is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader for the position of Director of Alumni and Community Engagement. This role is pivotal in designing and managing a robust alumni and community engagement program that supports the university's mission and priorities. UAA's University Advancement includes several key areas: Development, Marketing & Communications, Alumni & Community Engagement and Institutional Events.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with event or project management experience. A successful candidate will be collaborative and strong at relationship building, with program development and supervisory experience. Additionally, our next Director of Alumni and Community Engagement will have exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with a proven ability to balance multiple priorities and achieve strategic goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, public administration or relevant field, and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience (at least three of which are at the professional level) in alumni relations programs, or in education, non-profit management or a field or industry that emphasizes relationship building, stewardship, and overseeing event-driven programming and communications.

Position Details:

This position is located at the University campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 83, based on education and experience.
