The UAA College of Arts and Sciences seeks candidates for its Communications Specialist. In this position you will promote the College's strategic communications, including weekly emails, alumni articles, and informing the CAS and campus community about events and initiatives of the College. You will also work as a Communications and Events Coordinating team. There will be on-going collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences management team, the Dean’s Office, and the College’s academic units, as well as with academic advisors and the university's public relations team.

As a Communications Specialist in the UAA College of Arts and Sciences, you will have the opportunity to highlight the major initiatives of the College and champion its faculty and staff. This quick paced work environment is well-suited to an enterprising communications specialist who can translate and promote the College's mission and strategic plan before audiences internal and external to the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience relevant to the position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska Anchorage, in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
