The University of Alaska Anchorage College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP) is seeking a Communications Manager to enhance the College’s visibility and communication efforts. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communications strategies to advance the College’s mission and strengthen relationships with internal and external audiences. The Communications Manager will lead digital marketing, manage social media, create content for media and fundraising initiatives, and serve as the primary media liaison, working closely with the Dean’s office and UAA Advancement team to align communications with CBPP's strategic goals and raise awareness of its academic and public service initiatives.
To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will bring strong strategic communication expertise, along with a proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive communication and public relations strategies. They should have experience in developing strategic communications plans that align with organizational goals, ensuring messaging is clear, targeted, and impactful. The candidate will excel in content creation, digital marketing, and social media management, demonstrating excellent writing and editing skills to engage audiences effectively. Additionally, the candidate should possess exceptional organizational abilities, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining a proactive and innovative approach to achieving communication objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field is required, as well as three years of progressively responsible communications experience related to the program or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Relevant experience with content creation, writing, and website maintenance including but not limited to social media, press releases, graphic/image design, and marketing is preferred.

Position Details:
This is a full-time, term-funded, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
