We are seeking a savvy Student Marketing Assistant! Are you passionate about photography and content creation, engaging with fellow students, and sharing the vibrant stories within the College of Indigenous Studies? Join us this summer as a Student Marketing Assistant!

As part of our communications team, you will gain valuable skills in social media management, graphic design, content creation, photography and video production while collaborating with our team at the Troth Yeddha’ campus.

At the UAF College of Indigenous Studies, we offer academic programs designed to serve Alaska communities and build a new generation of leaders. Our programs are grounded in Alaska communities, with rural campuses located in Bethel, Nome, Kotzebue, and Dillingham. Your role will focus on supporting the communication needs of our college, focusing on photography and video production and content creation for social media. Other duties may include graphic design and general marketing & communication.

To thrive in this role, experience with social media, graphic design, content creation and photo/video techniques are helpful, but not required. Exceptional communication skills are desired in this position, you must be proficient in writing, pay close attention to detail, and work in a proficient and organized manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be enrolled with a minimum of 6 credit hours and have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.

Students may work some hours at the CIS Dean’s office office, and some hours remotely. Ideally, candidates who wish to work remotely should have reliable fast internet.

Salary information:
This is a part-time position for UA students only. It is a Student 2 position, starting at step 17 earning $15.57/hour - Depending on experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus Fairbanks AK, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full or part time student position. New hires will be placed on the UA Student Salary Schedule, Grade 02, based on education and experience.
